Ryan S. Dunning is an attorney licensed to practice law in California (Reg. No. 279,455) and before the United States Patent & Trademark Office (Reg. No. 68,149). He has worked in the field of intellectual property law since 2007. Before starting his own practice, Mr. Dunning worked for five years at The Law Offices of Andrew D. Fortney, Ph.D., P.C. in central California, and for four months at Patent Law & Venture Group in southern California. Although most of his experience is in U.S. patent law, Mr. Dunning has also worked on international patent applications, including applications in the patent offices of China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Canada, and Europe. Mr. Dunning's specialty is responding to rejection notices (Office Actions) from the patent office. He has written over 150 such responses, arguing against the rejections, and in nearly every case overcoming the rejections to successfully obtain a patent for the client. Prior to his career in law, Mr. Dunning was a science teacher, teaching Physics and Earth Science at the high school level.
